Our guide will share his extensive knowledge of the fascinating technology and eventful history of these impressive machines with you. The highlight of the cab ride is undoubtedly the one-hour ride in the footplate of the steam locomotive, where you can feel the power and rattling of the engine directly under your hands. We offer two start times per day.

In the morning:
08.30 hrs | meeting point at Brienz station
followed by a tour of the depot
09.40 hrs | departure from Brienz
10.35 hrs | arrival at Rothorn Kulm
In the afternoon:
13.00 hrs | meeting point at Brienz station
followed by a tour of the depot
13.58 hrs | departure from Brienz
14.57 hrs | arrival at Rothorn Kulm
The return journey takes place individually according to the timetable.
The return journey is included in the price. The minimum age for a cab ride is 18 years.
You are welcome to take up to 10 accompanying persons with you. These accompanying persons are welcome to accompany you on the depot tour and will be seated in the carriage next to the locomotive.
Please let us know in advance if and how many people will be accompanying you.
After the meeting point, you will be given stoker's clothing to get dirty.
